Flash Drives are a game mechanic in the Luminous Arc Series. They are always very powerful attacks that need FP to use and are thus useful if the character is in a pinch in a later part of a fight. On the other side they can be utterly devastating as most bosses come with their own Flash Drives, which will more often than not annihilate your unit.
Luminous Arc[]
In Luminous Arc, Flash Drives can be learned by every character at different levels. Every character has a maximum of 3 unique Flash Drives except for Theo, Alph and Cecille, who change theirs after certain story events. The Flash Drives themselves are available at 3 different Levels and cost 1, 2 and 3 FP respectively and always have some kind of extra added, like lowering the victim's GUARD or inflicting poison.
Luminous Arc 2: Will[]
In Luminous Arc 2: Will, Flash Drives are a little different. First of all, some characters need special Story Events in order to get access to their Flash Drives and learn them afterwards when they reach a specific level. Roland is unique in the way that he can only use a Flash Drive when he is engaged/united with a witch and the attacks Element changes with the Witch he engaged/united with (engaged with Sadie his Flash Drive gets the Wind Element for example). The naming scheme changed as well, with all Flash Drive of one Character having the same name with "LvX" at the end, "White Flare Lv3" for example. The most different thing is the lack of status effects/status lowering on victims, which becomes obselete because of the new damage cap, exchanging effects for power.

Luminous Arc 3: Eyes[]
In Luminous Arc 3: Eyes Flash Drives function almost the exact same way as Luminous Arc 2 except that the names of each Flash Drives no longer contain LV in their name. Flash Drives range and area of effect of each character are different such as Elulu can target cross shaped area and Anogia can only target adjusted panel. Boss character Flash Drives will have up to 13 area effect or in Sumirusafu case, half of battle field.
