Rina

Rina is a playable character from Luminous Arc 2.

Background[]

Rina is one of the knights in training, along with Roland and Rasche, who is sent to accompany Althea back to see Dia, the brilliant witch. She, Roland, and Rasche not only train together, but the three of them are childhood friends. She is Steiner's younger sister and sincerely wishes that her brother would get along with Roland and Rasche as they did when the four of them were children.

Rina's parents died in a (black) fire when she was young and ever since, Rina has been petrified of fire. Prior to the fire, she used to play with Karen, as both of their fathers were researching Lapister. The death of her parents deeply affected Rina and she became less sure of herself.

Personality[]

Rina is a kind young woman who wants everyone to get along. She is deeply troubled by the hostility her brother Steiner directs at Roland and Rasche, and often apologizes for her brother's behavior. She is distinguished by her upbeat attitude and helpfulness. She easily makes friends and usually has a very cheerful smile on her face. She looks up to Queen Sophia and claims she wants to be like her.

Stats and Abilities[]

As the story suggests, Rina is a skillful archer with high accuracy but lower than average attack. She has high movement and high jump along with her long ranged attack making her one of easiest ranged units to use. On top of that, Rina's arts use low MP. To compensate for this high level bows, while increasing her attack power significantly, reduce her accuracy stat quite a bit and (true to the typical archer name) she has low defense and resistanct, along with low HP.

You can negate this easily with a HP+ lapis or increase her technique to counter the late game bows reducing accuracy or just put her in the backrow so she can rain arrows from afar (while being protected by Gaston, or Rasche... and so forth). Rina has the highest technique stat out of everyone, and can deal the most damage with her Shadow Shot, her strongest ability.

Trivia[]

Rina cannot cook because, as stated previously, she is terrified of fire.
Rina is shown to have a crush on Richter, who compliments her at the end-game soiree.
According to the character designer Kaito Shibano, Rina was originally going to have long hair, but then a hat was added to her outfit and her hair was shortened. This concept is later seen in her final intermission when she show her childhood to Roland.
Kaito Shibano also stated in the Luminous Artbook that he likes Rina's frilly skirt.
